Just like my father always say, hating someone is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die in your stead. Hatred only affects you and not the person you’re hating.

"Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers all wrongs"
Proverbs 10:12

In life, people will turn you upside down, they will abuse you and treat you very badly, unknowingly, hatred creeps in. Don't allow it cos it'll consume you. It's enough reason for you to be unhappy about the way you were treated. It's enough to curse and wanna even bite the person. It enough to imagine how you would torment the person. Yea, these things comes to mind when we are hurt but stop! It will take you to a dark corner, HATE!

As few as that word is, it has consumed many.
Hatred would bring you to anger, pain bitterness. You'd count many enemies than friends. You really don't need the world's opinion, you really don't need great number of friends, you really do not need everyone's support but you as well don't need to be in enemity with everyone.

Martin Luther King Jr said, "let no man pull you so low as to hate him". I rather forget everything about you than than to hate you. I know what hatred does cos I was once there. In fact, so many has hurt me. Pastors, friends... But you know what hatred would do? It would consume you. It saps more energy than love.

Everyday and night you think of how to torment the person. You are wounded beyond human reasoning. Let me not use a life story. Permit me to use the popular 2018 movie "Acrimony" by Tyler Perry. Melinda Gayle who got married to Robert, the guy she met when she was a teenager. When she discovered the guy cheated on her, cos of her anger issues, she had an accident that caused her, her womb.

Remember that anger breeds hatred. And anger would drown you. Many said she loved her husband. No, she didn't. The first love you should have, is love for yourself. She was blinded by having the man and she got into marriage with someone she couldn't deal with. He isn't working. He is waiting for a particular contract for more than 15years without helping the wife. She saw all these things. Do you know what those things did? They built up hatred in her and not love. What she she had for the guy was no longer love.

Little wonder why she wanted to avenge? She could have just moved on but seeing that she had suffered for the guy, she don't wanna give in. She Avenged to death. What would enternity have for her? When so many things happen to us. We get blinded that we refuse to see the brighter side. We only get to this brighter side through love. We can never win something through hatred.

I once hated a friend cos he hurt me so badly. I hated that I could no longer do anything again. I was wounded that I remained on the ground cos of hate. Do you know how I walked out? I started praying. I read books. I studied my Bible. When I pray, I mention his name and scream words like, "I love you"

It wasn't easy. I kept on doing this until one-day, the hatred left me. Now? I live freely without grudges. The so many things you would have invented with your mind, you leave for grudges? Naaaaaaa! Don't ruin your future that way.

1John 4:19, remember, whoever says I love God but hates his brother is a liar.

And God doesn't want liars in his kingdom. So, say no to hatred. It would mar us. It brings no good tiding. I indulge us today to choose the way of love and not hatred.
