STEEMCHURCH: How to create an intercessory prayer as JESUS CHRIST DID!
Intercessory prayer is the act of praying for others. The role of the mediator in prayer was common in the Old Testament as with Abraham, Moses, David, Samuel, Hezekiah, Elijah, Jeremiah and Daniel. Peter Christ is pointed out in the New Testament as the fundamental intercessor and that is why all Christian prayer becomes intercessory, since it is to offer God for you through Christ. Jesus closed the gap between God and us when He died on the cross. He was the greatest mediator (intercessor) that ever existed. For this reason, we can now intercede in prayer for other Christians, or for the lost, ask for a God who will grant them repentance according to their will. "Because there is only one God and only one mediator between God and men, Jesus Christ, man". (1 Timothy 2: 5) "Who is the one who condemns"? Christ is the one who died; moreover, he who also is raised, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us (Romans 8:34).
A wonderful model of intercessory prayer is found in Daniel 9, while praying for his people who had turned away from God. He has all the elements of a true intercessory prayer, it is a response to the word (v-2); characterized by fervor (v-3); and self-denial (v-4); identifying selflessly with the people of God (v-5); and intendified by the confession (v-5/15): dependent on the character of God (v-16/19). As Daniel Christians we must come before God interceding for others with a contrite heart and an attitude of repentance, recognizing our own indignificance and with the sense of self-denial. Daniel did not go and said "I have the right to demand this from you, God, because I am one of your specially chosen intercessors," He went and said, "I am a sinner," and in effect, he says "I have no right. to demand nothing "The true will of God and see that it is fulfilled, but to see it fulfilled, the glory of God is sought, not ours.
THE INTERCESSOR IS THE ONE WHO PUTS HIS FACE IN FAVOR OF ANOTHER BEFORE GOD!
What should we take into account to intercede?
- Have Faith, enter into the presence of God through the Holy Spirit.
- Intercede as if the need were ours with Faith.
- Do it with sincerity, humility, simple of heart.
- One who comes to intercede for the sake of the other.
(Matthew: 8: 3) - (Genesis 18: 16/33).
We must follow a partial list of those for whom we must offer intercessory prayers; All who are in authority (1 Timothy 2: 2); ministers (Philippians 1:19); the church (Psalm 122: 6); friends (Job 42: 8); compatriots (Romans 10: 1); the sick (James 5:14); enemies (Jeremiah 29: 7); for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44); those who forsake us (2 Timothy 29: 7); and for all men (1 Timothy 2: 1).
