There are times when doubt wants to take precedence.

In our lives, we constantly make decisions. We are presented with complex situations in which we must choose one path or another. Doubts also arise, and these somehow rob us of the opportunity to see how God works in our lives.

Then Moses said to the Lord, "Alas, Lord! I have never been a man of speech, neither before nor since you spoke to your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue." 11 And the Lord said to him, "Who gave man's mouth? Or who made the mute and the deaf, the seeing and the blind? Am I not the Lord? 12 Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say." 13 And he said, "Alas, Lord! Send, I pray thee, by whom thou shalt send."

Exodus 4:10-13

Doubt doesn't arise, and we let it advance. In some ways, it's destructive because it fills us with uncertainty and doesn't allow us to decide. It also directly affects our ability to walk with God. We understand that doubt has taken over when it makes it difficult for us to believe in the following points:

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

When we doubt that God always absolutely, unconditionally loves us, this means that God's love for us doesn't fluctuate. God's love doesn't depend at all on our behavior. And we are assured of this through the expression of love in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Here, Jesus has performed the most sublime act of love and grace that could have existed in humanity. God loves us even when we had rebelled against him.

As far as the east is from the west,
He has removed our transgressions far from us.

Psalm 103:12

We also see that doubt is taking place when we doubt God's forgiveness. God has promised that He will forgive us when we come before Him and confess our sins. We generally have difficulty believing that we have already been forgiven. This is why we must put aside our feelings and not allow them to determine whether something is true or not. The word of God is faithful and true, and feelings should not determine whether this is so or not. We must intelligently understand that God has promised that we are forgiven, as His word says.

10 Then Moses said to the Lord, "Alas, Lord! I have never been a man of speech, neither before nor since you spoke to your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue." Exodus 4:10

God has given us a great call to His service; He has called us to serve Him in His work. Even so, when doubt grows, it could be similar to what He did with Moses: we can fall into making perfect excuses for not obeying, much less following God's guidelines. But there, too, the Word encourages us to continue. God promises to make available to us and provide us with absolutely everything we need.

10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

Do you have doubts? Don't worry too much about it because it's normal. Our nature generally has tendencies contrary to what God desires for us. If you still have doubts, turn to the Word, which fills us with certainty, security, and above all, faith. Doubt is quelled by the Word of God and the faith it generates in us.
