God is good, his goodness is unchanging and this gives us security and total confidence in everything we need in our life.

I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise will continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul will boast in the Lord;
The meek will hear it, and be glad.
3 Magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt his name together.
4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who looked to him were enlightened,
And their faces were not put to shame.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him,
And delivered him from all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
And he delivers them.
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in him.

Psalms 34:1-8

One of the first truths about God's attributes that we learn is about his goodness, God is good. These simple words show a very notable and praiseworthy attribute on the part of the Lord. God is holy and perfect, God himself is the standard of justice and that goodness is revealed in his actions since by his nature absolutely everything he does is good, in this way we understand that he cannot go against his own nature.

For I the Lord do not change; therefore, O children of Jacob, you are not consumed.

Malachi 3:6

It is God, it is his character and not our behavior that determines his relationship with us, how he treats us. God treats us like a loving father and corrects our behavior, our disobedience, he does all this so that we have a much closer relationship with him.

For the Lord disciplines whom he loves,
And he scourges every son he receives.

Hebrews 12:6

God manifests and expresses his goodness in many ways. Let us remember that he is the God of all creation and every detail. Every time we breathe, it is by the grace of God. God as a shepherd also takes care of us and provides us with everything we need. But if we want to know what is the greatest expression of love and goodness, it is that expression on the cross through his son Jesus Christ where our sin came with love so that we may have freedom and a close relationship with him.

God's goodness is key and it is what somehow also feeds our faith through what he has written for us, his promises and the way he treats us. These truths of God fill us with joy and confidence, especially when we are going through the most difficult and dark moments.
