Let's take time to appreciate God's goodness, this way we will naturally react with the desire to give to God and to others with great joy.

17 Charge those who are rich in this present age not to be conceited, nor to put their hope in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy. 18 They should do good, be rich in good works, willing to give, generous, 19 laying up for themselves a good foundation for the future, taking hold of eternal life.

1 Timothy 6:17-19

Surely, just like me, when you feel that you are more skilled at something, when there is something that you do better, you enjoy it much more. A clear example is when I hear a musician play very well or when we play music and it sounds good, that causes great pleasure. Perhaps it is a strange comparison, but this same thing usually happens when we give or offer.

For every beast of the forest is mine,
And the beasts upon the hills by the thousands.

Psalm 50:10

There are many reasons why God has for us to give of all that we have received from his hand. When we give of what we have received to the Lord, we are recognizing that everything comes from him and that everything belongs to him. Also when we give, we are recognizing that he has been good and his grace is abundant toward us in that he has given us first. We give to God and we also contribute to giving to other people. This is part of our mission as children of God, and this in turn produces great joy. We keep what we have as an offering, which is also that contribution so that the word of God can spread and be glorified, so that many others can be partakers of the love of God and we always remember that when we are showing generosity, God is a faithful provider and supplies all our needs.

8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that, always having all sufficiency in all things, you may abound in every good work.

2 Corinthians 9:8

Giving is not limited to just giving our money, it also means that we can give part of our time and abilities. The Holy Spirit of God guides us to help us know how, how much, and to whom to give.

7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7

God has blessed us with this undeserved salvation, He protects us, comforts us, and encourages us. Giving back what we have received with a grateful heart is part of our mission as children of God. Will you miss this opportunity?
