Through Jesus Christ we receive salvation, which translates into eternal life and full joy here on earth and for eternity.
The birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: When his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. 19 Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to put her to shame, decided to divorce her secretly. 20 While he thought about this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, for what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you shall call his name JESUS,[a] for he will save his people from their sins. 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
23 Behold, a virgin will conceive and give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel, which means, God with us.
24 Then Joseph awoke from sleep and did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife. 25 But he did not know her until she had given birth to her firstborn son. And he called his name JESUS.
Matthew 1:18-25

That good news that had been programmed at that time was not limited only to the birth of Christ, it had to do with something much beyond that, this was anticipating a life definitely without sin since it pointed to the lamb sacrificed by God. The birth of Jesus Christ pointed directly to the crucifixion, death and resurrection of the son of God, all this would be the payment for our sin and our redemption to be in heaven forever.
And the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven, and sat at the right hand of God.
