When we are hurt, let us surrender that pain and ask God for help to change any wrong attitude that persists in our mind and heart.

9 Thus you should pray: Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. 14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; 15 but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 6:9-15

Immediately after Jesus taught his followers how to pray, he spoke to them and gave them a warning about how they allow resentment to dwell in their hearts. Jesus simply taught that if they refuse to forgive other people, those who have harmed them, they would not be forgiven by the Father either.
Speaking of this, it has nothing to do with the salvation we have received, it does not mean that we will lose it when we do not forgive another person, but if we do not do so I am sure that we break that closeness with the person and with God himself, when our heart is filled with resentment we undoubtedly move away from God.
Forgiveness is not a feeling that comes to the surface because we are good people, it is a voluntary and rational act, although at times we do not feel like being merciful to someone who did us some kind of harm, but what is right and what we have been called to do is to forgive and have mercy on others.

38 You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' 39 But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever hits you on the right cheek, turn the other to him also; 40 and whoever wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well;

Matthew 5:38-40

Carrying resentment on your back for lack of forgiveness is a very heavy burden, it is terrible. God knows perfectly well that it is best to always forgive even when this seems very difficult, practically impossible. Let us pray and ask God to fill our minds and hearts with mercy and grace so that we can give this to others, this includes forgiveness. May God work in our hearts to put aside resentment and anger and move forward according to the grace that has been with us, may we also apply this grace to others, may we learn to pray for those who have hurt us, who have harmed us, may we learn to ask for forgiveness for our incorrect attitudes or actions.
Although anger and rage invade us from one moment to the next, but let it not take a predominant place in our hearts, being resentful does not agree with who we are as children of God. That is why the word of God urges us to forgive, God knows that when we forgive we free ourselves from that burden and God himself has promised to free us from that burden, we have to take the necessary steps.

31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him: If you continue in my word, you will truly be my disciples;
