Child Training in a Christian Home

in #steemchurch7 years ago

Many parents today work hard at training their children for the future but lack a clearly defined goal for the training.
They nurture the children physically but are spiritually malnourished. As a good Christian parent, you must have a clearly defined target for your children's growth and development, and then create a plan to hit that target. Family-Reading.jpg
Ephesians 6:4 talks about the primary goal of training children "Bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord ". 14849-ThinkstockPhotos-477492635.1200w.tn.jpgYou must make conscious effort to raise your children in the way of the Lord. First lead them to Salvation in Christ, and then impart into them godly virtues at every stage of their development. You have to understand that raising children is not just about looking after their physical well-being, it also involves instructing them in the Word of God, so that they grow up with integrity and godly fear. happy-family-sunset-father-mother-two-children-daughters-having-fun-playing-nature-child-sits-shoulders-70819678.jpg
In spite of the numerous challenges of raising children in this degenerate world, you must bring up your children in the way of the Lord. You must do everything within your power to nuture them to become men and women who love and cherish God; otherwise, you'll be considered a failure as a parent, and if your children perish, God will require their blood at your hand.
Guidepost in Child Training

  1. Exercise moral authority over your children
  2. Communicate and express love to your children
  3. Accept and appreciate your children
  4. Discipline your children with reason
  5. Keep your children from corrupting influences
  6. Teach your children to live godly by being a good example

Love and discipline are the dual keys to raise children successfully. The two work hand in hand and always go together, when discipline is done in love, they won't see it as mere rebuke but will appreciate it's long-term value in moulding, strengthening and perfecting their character. wp-1461632463613.jpg

Never condemn a child even though it's okay to condemn his wrong actions. Make him understand that you're correcting his bad behavior and not attacking his person. Study each child to know the best form of punishment to mete out to him or her.
Whatever form of discipline you use, do it in love so your children will have the feeling that it's for their own good. IMG_2536.jpg
