I need more mermaids ...

I recently retired the old stamps in my Digital Stamp store, which meant I was left with only one mermaid available! An outrage to be sure. I love fantasy art, especially mermaids so I needed to create some mermaid art as soon as possible.

As per my usual I decided to sketch something up on my lunch break at work.

Again I went for a simple pose, when I create at lunch I don't have the time for references as I think you can usually tell! Still I think she came out great ... the sea shell not so much ... it was fine until I inked it and then I don't know what happened!

I had a bit of a glitch with this colouring though ... I'm sure you can tell but while stippling the tail I ended up having too much ink on the nib and it kinda spit up on my colouring! Apparently when using copic sketch markers a good tip is to make sure you remove both caps when colouring so that doesn't happen. You live and you learn right!
