What is the benefit of Power Up? Newbie here

I want to know if power steem is the value of upvote?
Even I upvote some articles, no increased or 0.01$ per upvote

And may I know the value of 1 steem if I convert it to Power Up.

Too many terms that I dont get it :D

the amount of steempower you have directly correlated with your voting power. when u power up lumalakas din voting power mo
