Today's Rambling Thoughts: STEEM has an IMAGE PROBLEM!!!... new Minnow Boot Camp coming ;)
STEEM, the Coin, the Token, has an image problem.
The Problem is STEEMIT! Here's my proof, an excerpt from WEB-BOT's analytics.
Steem
This is a popularity token on the social media platform Steem. It is traded, albeit in low volumes. It's vulnerabilities come from no external sources of value flowing into the Steem platform, thus the Steem coin is banking on presence to make it an effective trade with other cryptocurrency offerings. Its largest vulnerability comes from the non-earned method of acquiring the token. It requires that one be popular on the Steem network in order to get 'up-voted' such that more Steem is sent your way based on the internal popularity algorithm. Some persistence showing up in the data about the platform but not the coin. Punt potential.
WEB-BOT is, imho, the top internet data mining going today, it seems Clif High developed the leading edge techniques to track Web Sentiment and analyze the 'hive mind' ;) That being said, did you notice that AT NO TIME did WEB-BOT recognize the difference between Steem and Steemit? This is very telling, and it is not the fault of the 'Bot, or the programmer, Clif High. It is working very well. PUBLIC PERCEPTION is the Problem. Web-Bot just reports Public Perception. We know that STEEM and STEEMIT are 2 different things, and when Clif wrote up the report, meaning he interprets the data sets, he noted that there is a platform connected to Steem. The Web Bot just found "no difference" in the public perception. Basically, this means that People believe STEEM is a sub-set of STEEMIT, when the reality is the OPPOSITE. Steem > Steemit. We here at Steemit are a part of a larger platform, Steem Blockchain and Tokens.

Idiots, content is king. There is valuable content constantly flowing into Steemit.com and people need STEEM power to maximize their enjoyment of it and that gives external value to the STEEM token.
PS: There is a lot of external value flowing into Steem Blockchain, anyway... We Are getting noticed, but have to shed that incorrect notion of 'sameness'...
I'm sure perception is probably a bit better, but I do not have current data. That report is several months old, I actually got it right after I started here LOL!!! Kinda glad I did not get that report before I signed up ;) Great Points, BobbyBoy :D
What exactly will @MinnowBootCamp do?
The account will become the voting bot for the followers, and multiply their support back to them. The boot camp training will be taking place at the CryptoEmpire discord. We have a lot of valuable material already and working up a program.
Steem is a great coin. But yeah, it is very tied in people's mind to steemit, and so they don't really trade it much. But as it grows I think the popularity in the market will increase. Nice post and graphics @underground!
Perception is linked to the comparative monetary value of Steem. Also, once the SMTs roll out and more awareness is built on what it can do for website owners, people will appreciate the value of Steem.
I agree but I think that will be a key in helping us draw the lines properly in the public mind...
