First, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I really hope this is a successful year for everyone in the Steemit community and in the Crypto world!

That being said, I want to talk a bit about what my top picks are for the cryptocurrencies that I am currently investing in and plan to hold.

1. STEEM

STEEM should be an obvious reason. That's where I'm posting now, but more importantly, I'm investing only in currencies that I believe have a future and I believe in. Steemit.com has been experiencing huge growth in the number of new users and active users.

Outside of just new users of Steemit.com, STEEM is also the currency being used for https://d.tube/

What this tells me is that this currency is not only growing, but also expanding into new types of media...which means more growth!

Steem is also the most "active" cryptocurrency on the market, beating Ethereum.

2. Tron

TRON (TRX) is a very interesting idea. In essence, it is the idea of cutting out the "middle man" in the entertainment world. Here's what I like about it:

  • The man behind it, Justin Sun.
    • I like that this person has a great reputation behind him. He's the creator of a popular app call "Peiwo", the Chinese version of Snapchat.
    • I like that he was 2015, 2017 Forbes China, 30 under 30
    • Has a great connection to Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba Group
    • Former Chief Rep in Greater China of Ripple
  • I like the price point per coin, cheap! It was about .03 cents when I jumped in...it's climbing at .05 now. For only a small risk it has big potential rewards.
  • To quote their white paper:

Its native economic system enables an unprecedented one-on-one interaction between providers of digital entertainment content and ordinary users. Therefore, content providers will no longer need to pay high channel fees to
centralized platforms like Google Play and Apple’s AppA Store. Also, providers of content such as texts, pictures, videos, and broadcasts, will break the curse that popularity and hits cannot create cash.

This simply feels like something that's going to be huge.

3. Verge

What I like about Verge:

  • Their emphasis on security and anonymity.
  • Price-point at .16 cents right now. I jumped in at about .13 cents.

4. Ripple

If I'm being honest, I didn't like the idea of Ripple in the beginning. I didn't like the idea that I could be helping out banks...but nevertheless, this seems to be a sure bet. Banks don't like to lose. Here's what why I jumped in:

  • This is a very cheap entry price point at $2.40 (as of writing this). I had jumped in at $.99 cents.
  • Lots of speculation of this being introduced into the Coinbase market, which is causing the price to jump. But if this really does go into Coinbase, expect an extreme increase in price in the first few hours. The word on the street is that it may be announced January 20th. Therefore, I would expect the price to drive up a bit more before that date and if nothing is announced, be ready for a nice drop.
  • I like that American Express has committed to using this as well.

i allread had this coins, but what do u think about the sleeping giant like electroneum, po.et, Cardano and Stellar?? i think they had much of
potentiall!! interesseted in your mind!!

  • Electrucm: Never heard of it until now. They seem kinda expensive for a small market cap and there's not much to read on them. Also, they aren't traded on many bigger exchanges yet and the ones that are tradding them, they have small amounts there...meaning it could take longer to fill the orders. But for .11 cents it's worth dropping $50 and hold (ugh...I know I "should be saying hodl...but I can't...just sounds stupid).
  • Cardano: They I have heard about and look interesting. I would definitely put money in them if I had extra to spare. They are also traded on lots of exchanges and have lots of info on their webpage. For .99 cents I think it's also worth the small risk. They've been doing really well as of late.
  • Stellar: Another one I have heard about and wanted to also dump some money into. I think this also has great potential! Kinda feels like it would be the natural competition to Ripple...and honestly...I think I am liking it more than Ripple now. Especially since I really liked Ripple mainly because I thought it might be traded on coinbase. But now that they aren't, I've already sold my Ripples back to BTC. And now that I'm thinking more about this...I think I will buy some Stellar! LOL!

Today I've really changed my opinion on Ripple mainly because I've learned a few things in the 2 weeks I've owned Ripple.

  1. Ripple and XRP aren't the same thing. Ripple is just the name of the company and XRP is one of the things they do. All this information about banks and American Express using Ripple actually has nothing to do with them using XRP. They aren't using XRP, instead, they are using some of the other software made by Ripple. Also, I was never a fan of them being "centralized" as a coin. Kinda seems anti cryptocurrency or against this general movement towards freedom of "the man."

I hope this helps!

I wish i had bought STEEM before, damn it!

Not too late! I think, if it's under $1,000 then it's not too late. Even at $6 per STEEM it's still cheap.

You couldnt' choose a better name @truth-be-told ! :))

The images you took from my stats to illustrate Steemit growth are pretty old and do not reflect last huge raise of blockchain activity. Here the most recent information about it.

Also, cool graphs. Where did you get the stats from to make it?

Haha! Yeah, I saw it on your post and then forgot where I got it from...ugh. My bad.

Very nice. I just saw D Tube today for the first time. It was made by the makers of Steemit?

Yep, pretty cool. And I've seen some folks making games with STEEM as well.
