A competitive salary for a young Chemical Engineer, just graduated, runs at 2.5 Steem

Is that an hourly rate? That would be around $8.75. That doesn't seem like that low given the salaries in my country. Either it's daily - which would be very bad or the inflation is truly insane. I will have to look into it later.
