RE: SoS Daily News : news about the State of Steem @ 22 February 2019

The number of minnow and dolphins are just not changing much. We need a campaign to get more minnows by supporting some of the new people. When they can vote a cent or two they may feel they have some influence.

Sort:

Yes totally agree. With the low price I thought the numbers would be creeping up a bit faster.

Maybe we could set a target of 10,000 minnows by the the end of the year.... the #10000minnows project !

Or maybe #10Kminnows better.

Let's go for it. We can publicise some who need a boost

First post made!

I changed it to #TenKMinnows as Steemit does not like tags to start with numbers even though Busy allows it.

It's incredibly difficult for new users these days. There seems to be far less support for them. When I joined almost 2 years ago, I would occasionally get these huge upvotes from initiatives such as curie that would also give more exposure and then even more upvotes for my content. What is there for newcomers now?

The frequency of bot and app voting has also pulled the value of votes down. This makes people feel insignificant and adds further to our poor retention rate. I was hoping the fall in price and market cap ranking would push investors to drop delegation from bots and become active to help this platform. I have been wrong so far.

It is harder now. I earned a lot of Steem early on when there were a lot less people around and we did not have the vote selling side. Maybe we get enough of a movement going to turn things around a bit. I think it is worth trying.

I think there are less people buying votes. It seems that the remaining buyers are just spending more.

There are plenty of possible solutions. It is just difficult getting people to act on anything.

We have to be persistent and find the right leverage to use on this. Nobody said it would be easy.
