RE: Idea proposal: "Find the Upvote button to be eligible to Curate and to Earn from it" MCD #5
This is a very interesting and clever proposal. I have always disliked having the upvote button on the outside of the post. Real curation actually involves reading the post.
Will the bots be able to trigger the upvote button with a comment? For example, an author buys a vote, a bot levels a comment prior to the voting. The author approves the comment because they want the upvote and the bot then automatically upvotes the post.
There are also many apps and interfaces on Steem, people could still be using those to upvote posts. I guess a hardfork could restrict the apps access to the voting function.
I also read the Taraz post. I am surprised so many support the 'locking stake' approach. It seems like the exact opposite to what should be done to encourage activity.
thanks for stopping by and for your comment, @spectrumecons ! :)
I appreciate your own input, opinion. as well as your effort to read my thoughts.
(even though you're are the only one who replied anything at all)
in fact I appreciate it so much - that it has provoked me to a response and further detailed analysis of the situation and all those ideas discussed. however my response became quite lengthy. therefore I would try first to summarize it into a brief version :
It is not possible to curb the appetite of voracious eater by giving him more food. to really do that - some Real Restrictions must be made! or at least some attempts and efforts showing that it is an actual concern and goal - not the mere appearance of it
and my proposed idea (which you called "clever" :)) is just an EXAMPLE of how that supposed to be attempted. IF it is a real genuine concern and effort - not the "fishing bait" to lure in more new users to bring in more Capital into the System to satisfy big "Stakeholders" (HYIP investors) for the sake of making them stay and yet "Self-Restrict" their "profit maximization".
(perhaps I'll post the rest of my response as another comment or as entirely new post)
