As far as steemit.com goes, we are in the process of creating a UI for the new notifications service/system we have built. It's going to be integrated into condenser in the next month or two. It's really spiffy, including things like email or sms or mobile push notifications for savings withdrawals, power downs, key/password changes, et c.
This is a neat feature that we will consider implementing once we ship the first version.

cant wait for it, this is going far. new things are about to come to open our minds and find the best solutions to fix every bug.
This is awesome news to hear. Excited to see what is to come. A solid notification system will be great to help others engage with the community in a more real time manner.
