Goal Reached – Dolphin II (20,000) STEEM
With all this cheap STEEM knocking about you just can’t help but get a little more. I think I’ll seriously sit back a little now; 20,000 STEEM was a big deal 6 months ago and would have given me votes worth several dollars.
Now its 42c; not so much you might think? We get twenty full votes every day so that could earn me maybe $3 a day if I was to abuse Steemit.
That’s a decent earner comparing the stock market and a decent defensive stock with its two of four dividends a year.
For an investment of $4800, which is the value of my powered up STEEM right now you could be just like me and earn $3 a day.
But wait, I can’t vote myself up twenty times a day at 100%, as that's abuse and even though I'm semi-respected here and a member of SteemFlagRewards, people are going to notice quickly if I start doing shitty selfish things like that.
Seriously, I do self-vote (my posts only), but keep the self percentage less than 10%. I have powered up everything on Steemit since I started an invested a lot of cold hard cash into it. I think I have earned my self-vote posts.
So this post is partly to boast about my accomplishment of hitting the Dolphin II status and also to say that my belief is that things are going to get better here.
The thing that’s different about the STEEM community is that even though it is an experiment and loosely based on Anarchy, you can draw more attention to yourself if you help others, directly or indirectly.
Be selfish and you might find yourself an outcast and largely ignored. Don’t believe me? Try it and you will see the difference, not right away but in time.
I’m not going to elaborate the boasting even more about what I do here, but take the time to look at what I delegate to. That will give you a good idea.
If you new new to Steemit (@hockney and @ebookwriter) just over £100 will gain you Minnow III status (500SP) as the prices stand and access to the slider bar (above). It really is cheap as chips compared to what I have seen in the past and a great time to power up.
There was a little bull rush yesterday on all the coins. I can’t tell you if its the end of bear season but I’m glad I got my Dolphin II sticker if it all starts to suddenly rise, and it will sooner or later.

Congratulations! I like your attitude. There's been too much depression and negativity on the platform recently. Negativity often comes from a sense of entitlement. We're not entitled to anything. This is a game, and a fun one which pays dividends.
Awesome that you were able to reach that milestone. I have needed to scale back a little bit because of the holidays. I know I am probably going to regret it in the long run, but you gotta do what you gotta do right? I think you have earned the right to vote yourself up. I don't upvote myself that much, but that is mostly because I forget to. Congrats again!

Yeah, I was kind of waiting for it to drop below $.20 before I did anything more. I feel like it is just toying with me now. I want to get another 100 SP built up so I can finally delegate some to SFR.
Congrats on your Dolphin status my friend! That is an awesome accomplishment. I wish I had extra money to buy in right now, I have never seen steem prices so low! Hopefully the bull run comes soon and you make out like a fat rat ;0)
It would make me happier to dish out votes over a $1 to people than just take the money and run. I wont cash out until I really need to and that's no time soon.

I've put what I've got into Steem and have it mostly powered up. I keep a little liquid to buy the odd thing here and there.
My voting trail self votes me and I don't feel the least bit bad about it. If I don't believe my post is worth a vote how can you?

That's very true. I don't do posts by half and they are usually meaty. This one is small in content for me at just over 400 words.
I'm am going to cut down the posts though, I keep saying that but its hard to pull away.

I am always excited to see good guys like you powering up and the bad guys powering down.
Hoping these prices shake a lot of the scammy profiteers away. My hope is the quality people will remain to build out Steem into a better platform. Community is key!
On the self voting, I generally have a hard time bringing myself to self vote as a personal preference but the curation trail I follow does it for me. ;)
I don't see any problem with it as long as it isn't like old Haejin tier self voting. Don't think anybody really knows where that line is but know I don't want to cross it. It's good to spread the upvote love around.
Appreciate all you do for SFR! That 1 k delegation got me fired up and I increased my own from 37-ish to 50 SP.
We have such a talented group of people among us of which I feel honored to be a part.

Well done @slobberchops! What sort of dolphin do you feel yourself to be? Possibly a rough-toothed dolphin?
I was all set to invest in some Steem last month, but a sudden loss of job put paid to that. C'est la vie - if the price is still down in the new year, maybe I'll be able to invest a bit.

I think it is the bottom. I really do. There are doom merchants out there that think we are going to plunge down a bit further first but it all depends on that bloody bitcoin!
There is a part of me that wanted it to go to ten cents because I would have loaded up more than I have. My goal this year was 30K by year end and because of the price drop I smashed it!

Lol, that some me slightly too at the time. Before that I had been steadily buying a couple of hundred steem at a time. If we genuinely have reached bottom will buy a bit more before it gets too expensive!
Congratulations, good to see more SP in the middle classes! I've been following the growth of the Orcas ... the numbers are rising pretty steadily and the rate of new Orcas has speeded up this month.
I'm still building but going for a more modest target by the end of August 2019 and buying regularly every week to achieve that. I am putting away some each month in a savings account as well - I may break it out if the price hits 10c! Interesting that your motivator is maintaining the value of your full vote, I hadn't considered that particular driver before.
I've started delegating to @steemflagrewards; my time goes into other things around community building, so delegating is my contribution. I appreciate the work of the flaggers, though, and thank you for doing that.

While I do delegate some, I feel its important to have a big wodge available for voting. I want to give to the good content creators. Im still a little taken back by the @starkez speech a couple of weeks ago but cant see how I can add to the blockchain any other way.
You should try flagging too then, and using their incentive too. It gets a little addictive after a while. Just be careful who you pick fights with though.
Steem needs to keep good content creators, so you are doing your bit :)
Re flagging - my time goes into community building; I'm also organising a Leicester @steemcampuk for the Spring, that's why I'm happy to support you and other people who are flagging. We can't all do everything, the jobs have to be shared round.
Fair enough, we all are doing out own little bits. SFR seem to have more flaggers now than ever so thats good. I just wish they had a bigger delegation.
STEEM is rising again, which means the abusers start coming out of their holes again. Its a never ending job trying to deter them.

6 month ago I was dreaming about a minnow :) .... These days with steem so cheap I have made that happend and I'm now aiming for a dolphin ... :) Hope it all works out in the end....
