Interesting Facts about Owls
Owls become one of the popular animals since a long time. This animal is often associated with various myths and magical worlds, including popularized by the Harry Potter movie box office, as a mail delivery creature in the wizarding world. In the UK, it is an owl is an animal whose appearance is often considered to bring good luck.
But different in some places in Indonesia, it is argued that the appearance of owls is closely related to death or misfortune. Hearing his name alone can be felt a different aura.
Here are some interesting facts of this increasingly rare bird.
The owl is famous for its nocturnal lifestyle (active at night), but it turns out some are not.
Some owls have diurnal behavior, meaning they hunt during the day, such as large gray owls (Strix nebulosa), northern eagle owls (Surnia ulula) and northern dwarf owls (Glaucidium gnoma).
Perhaps the owl is a hunter during the day because of prey of choice, such as singers or small mammals who also behave diurnal. In addition, the owl is a close relative of the eagle, which is a diurnal bird.
