What Co-Founder of KuCoin Exchange Thinks of STEEM [We Can Get On It!]
As my followers know i do interviews for my self hosted cryptocurrency blog with a funny name - https://fuk.io
Every time i have occasion i give extra questions about STEEM to promote our ecosystem and the coin.
This time i spoke with Co-founder of asian exchange KuCoin - which has a great engine, loads of pairs and doesn't need documents to register. If you dont have an account there - go for it - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. Im sure if they see new users from Steemit we will have better chances of getting added. Its a good cryptocurrency exchange with $26 261 009 USD daily volume.
THE STEEM QUESTIONS FROM THE INTERVIEW
Kingscrown: Did you hear of Steem? What do you think of such decentralized content platforms?
Johnny Lyu: Yes, I did. It’s a great attempt of decentralized content incentive platform. But frankly, there is room for improvement.
For instance, if it’s quantity-driven incentive mechanism, really decent content generators might be marginalized; accordingly, it will be much more difficult for new comers to get on readers’ radar, as the “veterans” will always stay on the top of the ranking list.
Minor modifications to incentives and governance might be worth considering, for example, allowing large-scale token holders as major nodes to screen out good contents.a To get qualification as “editors” these nodes need to pay or deposit tokens, but once the selected content turns out to be quality ones, their input would pay out.
KC: What would it take for STEEM or SBD (its theoretically USD pegged coin) to get listed on KuCoin?
JL: Oh, you are interested? We have a professional listing team and complete internal review system, I can help to connect you guys.

Let’s hope it gets listed and sparks a bull market for steem
i have a direct line, like to many others. but nobody from STEEM INC even bothers to read this or upvote...
I just gave it a full upvote... we need more liquidity and we need more business’ and dapps... i really think we can spike up in price once there is a shortage of liquid steem...
i thought u always give me full upvotes....
Yeah but not always 100% :D
Hi - We've actually engaged discussion with KuCoin previously, along with many other exchanges. Please see @elipowell 's comment on this thread. 🙂
Thanks for doing this interview, nice work!
Great interview @kingscrown, and the ideas, Johnny Lyu. Steemit has a roadmap that addresses most of these issues and will be sure to consider all the great suggestions from the community. We are also very active, and always have been, with reaching out to exchanges. Many require hefty listing fees, but now with advertising options we are working on some cool co-marketing ideas... including with KuCoin! Hope to see Steem listed with KuCoin very soon.
thank you!
That is very exciting. Thank you! Are there any plans to reduce the programmatic selling from the Inc accounts now that advertising revenue is established?
And now that Mira brings the costs way down.
Great to hear, especially for newcomers to #steem

I just got to peek into Steemit's top secret roadmap:
Yeah, that’s right there are a lot of veterans on Steemit, as you said it will be more difficult for new accounts to be on the radar.
Because if they don’t have a high reputation and don’t have Steem to make a promotion maybe they will disappear in a short time. We can understand with a small high reputation is difficult to be a little bit on the top for an instant..
Thanks a lot for the great interview @kingscrown

Wonder why steem inc. doesn’t try to get listed on lots of exchanges? Thousands of shit coins has more listings than steem and steem been around for almost 4 years. 🤷🏼♂️😂

no idea.. i was making first posts about lots of exchange listnings and ways to get there - even binance.
I've always wondered why our community does very little to market steem outside of steemit.
With as long as steem has been around, you would think that the content would have a decent chance at straying from cryptocurrencies. Not only that, but the top content creators can take on badge titles such as @kingscrown. The incentives for participation really do seem to be centered at the top. Maybe once this is fixed, as Johnny Lyu said, steem will be able to get some momentum.
There is really no need for the steem to be listed in almost all exchanges, especially on exchanges that do hold the keys for their users.
It cost money to be listed on exchange, for example last year the community on binance voted for steem to be listed on binance but binance demand steemit inc to pay 1 million dollar,im sure other exchange will charge too, some smaller exchange wont.
i own some Kucoin, I like their exchange and the added passive income as well.
having steem on there would be great
I just seen a couple of steem vbloggers who created promotional materials to advertise steem using their own money.
I wish the devs behind the steem coin will also do the same thing.
the more the merrier :)
ALWAYS!
The interview sounds very much interesting and I actually agree with the CEO of kucoin on the issue of improving visibility of new content creators who do excellent jobs and don't get noticed. Though the mechanism proposed by the him sounds centralised, it will be worth it for a try at least
thanks!
He makes some fair points. However whatever choice you go with it’s never going be perfect. Even having “editors” will have the issue of bias and people wanting one group of amazing content creators over another. Just look at how YouTube is going they are heavily promoting main stream trying lure them to their platform. What is consider decent content is high speculative.
