2018 is Upon Us! Here's My Crypto Portfolio Going into the New Year!

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

Hey Everyone! I've gotten a lot of questions about what strategy I use to invest in crypto and which cryptos I invest in regularly. This post will serve as an introduction and overview to my portfolio and general investing philosophy when it comes to crypto. Follow-up posts will discuss each crypto individually and will be released over the coming days.

My Current Portfolio (in no particular order):

  1. STEEM
  2. XZC
  3. NEO
  4. NAV
  5. BAT
  6. ARK
  7. GNT
  8. OMG
  9. MYST
  10. ANT
  11. BMC
  12. BTC
  13. LTC
  14. ETH
  15. DNT
  16. XVG

*NOTE: I'll share the weighting % of each holding within my portfolio in the next post when I discuss my investing philosophy in-depth.

Overview of My Crypto Investing Philosophy:

My philosophy is relatively simple. I approach investing in cryptocurrencies as similar to startup and venture capital investing. When it comes to startup investing, it's typical that money will be tied up for years on end and the success rate of each investment is very low.

Despite this low success rate, startup investing can be extremely profitable. This is due to the exorbitant profits that are earned from picking 1 or 2 startups that end up taking or creating a huge market share.

I find crypto investing to be extremely similar to startup investing and the next post will discuss my strategy in much more detail.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for the future posts discussing my philosophies and reasons for investing in each of these amazing cryptos!

That's very interesting. You've got the crypto-monopoly game board covered. Honestly I like simple things and need more simplicity in life. I never wanted to put any of my own fiat money into crypto so I started mining. A little later I found Steemit about find it easier to write then to mine. I never thought I would be able to make more than a dollar on steemit but after a month it is paying off. I had some iota but my wife found my wallet on the computer and USB and erased it. She thinks crypto is evil. I still have a little Monero on a paper wallet and some HODL coins and fantom coins from mining last year.

This image and the game were made by Ned Flanders in Github 6 days ago but I think he got the idea from me one moth ago. Still I give Ned the credit. The mineopoly game I made was a simple image. He made a whole game.

Steemit has already changed my life and I've only just begun on this amazing platform recently. As someone who has played monopoly his entire life, this cryptocoinopoly game is amazing and I'm already thinking about printing it out! I just read your post from a month ago, that's a great analogy! Buy the light blues with hotels before over-stretching yourself and trying to buy the dark blues! Thanks for sharing that as well!

I would like to learn about neo and xvg. Also iota even if its not in your portfolio.

That's great to hear! Iota isn't in my portfolio, but it is on my watchlist. Once I make posts on all of the currencies that are in my portfolio, I'll also make one about Iota! Thanks for the suggestion! 🥂

Xrb has been on a monster run last few weeks. Just cant buy it on most exchanges.

Oh yes, you have a very decent list of coins and it's very good that you shared them and your vision of investing. I really want to study your next post, in which you can describe in more detail your motives for each coin! For myself, I'm still studying ARK and STELLAR . Thank you @khaleelkazi

ARK is one of my favorites! I look forward to discussing it with you more @serkagen!!

Looking forward to it. Along with the weighings and investment pholosophy, hopefully the strategy will talk about rationale of investing in each of these coins, the returns generated since your initial investment and the expectation (return and time horizon) going into 2018.

thanks @khaleelkazi for sharing your portfolio. I have invested 9 of those coins. Your post gives me new ideas to invest more to some of those coins. Can't wait for your next post to learn your investing philosophy in-depth.

I really believe in NEO & XVG, already invested 800$ in both of them, thanks! 👍

Me Too...Helped me through some tough times with around $30,000. Micro-sells and double up on the corrections. Good day Mate...

we discuss mainly in bitcoin other currencies should be discussed in details

Which crypto on my list are you most excited to learn about?

Glad that steem made the list, but of course it did. I am new to this and still getting my head sorted out. Thanks for helping!

Thank you for sharing!

I am going to do my homework and research the cryptos in your list.

I have decided to diversify my meager cryptos. Do you have an exchange you would recommend? It can get crazy trying to hold a dozen currencies in their respective wallets!

I have recently tried Cryptopia and it is pretty good.

I am interested in learning more about NEO because it seems to be a competitor to Ethereum as a platform. I always like to know about the underlying purpose of the currency so I know there is something behind it!

I'm looking forward to seing your strategy in more detailes.
Now I wish you a Happy New Year full of blessings! https://steemit.com/life/@nicuzaharie/blessings
