What does it mean to be resilient?

In life, as well as in business, we always face challenges that we do not expect, we face financial problems, rejections, failures because it is a time when it seems that nothing moves forward and everything seems to be stagnant. There are people who stay in this situation and others who get ahead, and this is not about luck, this is putting resilience into practice.

What is resilience? Resilience is that ability to adapt and recover after a difficulty, no matter how significant it may be. This does not mean that we ignore the pain or the problems, this means that we learn from the situations we experience and move forward with more impetus. This is a skill that can be learned and is key in any aspect of our life, especially in the business world since we face the "No" every day and this makes it more complicated every day.

The next question is key: how do we strengthen resilience? The first thing is to change the observer's position, that is, we change our perspective about the situation we are going through. Every obstacle is an opportunity to learn something new. Instead of thinking "this is not for me" we should ask ourselves "what can I learn through this situation?"

Asking ourselves questions in different situations helps us find solutions and this in turn allows us to gradually develop a growth mentality. Resilient people believe that there is always an opportunity to improve, skills are not something fixed, they are something that expands with practice and continuous effort.

Of course, if we want to adopt this resilience mentality, the environment has a significant influence. According to the people we surround ourselves with, it is our way of facing problems, which is why we must surround ourselves with people who motivate us and help us in the midst of critical situations. All of this in turn should push us to take action. Being resilient does not mean that we will not have fears, it means that even with fear we will not stop acting. Every small step we take reinforces our self-confidence and shows that we can overcome any challenge.

Resilience is not an attitude that we are born with, resilience is a skill that is built day by day in a conscious way. If we see it as a muscle, with continuous exercise we can strengthen ourselves and become resilient people, unstoppable in different aspects of our lives. Do you accept the challenge?
