Trust is not negotiable!

Today I had several experiences that led me to reflect on trust, and that it's a quality that is earned and non-negotiable.

In the field I work in, trust is crucial to starting, working, and carrying out negotiations. Trust involves many aspects, from professional work, to dedicating quality time to clients, and always working to create new bonds and relationships.

In my line of work as a real estate agent, I work with the most precious of people. I'm charged with the responsibility of fulfilling their dreams. This means that someone who has worked their entire life to build and own their own home hands everything over to me so I can be responsible for negotiating and selling the property.

Today, a colleague and I completed a negotiation that was rushed when I took it over. In less than a week, we completed all the paperwork that normally takes a month. Thanks to that, we were able to close a deal. And here's just a paragraph from my client, who told me the following: "Two people offered me the same property you're offering me. One of them offered me a much higher price and told me everything was in perfect condition. Now you're telling me there's still one more step left to complete before all the paperwork is ready. I trust what you're telling me and I'd prefer you show me another property."

We immediately secured another property that was reserved by another client, but the client was unable to purchase. We began negotiations the next day and closed the following week.

I'm sharing all of this because all the work I did before and after the negotiation process, and the trust my client had placed in me, demonstrated some kind of trust in me and my work. I later thanked him for choosing me as his advisor.
