Today I want to talk about: "The Vices." (How it begins)

First things first: What are vices?

When we talk about vices, we're talking about habits (generated by repeated behavior) that at first glance seem harmless but over time enslave us.

How do these vices start? This is an excellent question since we rarely think about how they start because, when it comes to vices, we're more focused on breaking them. To summarize everything that can be discussed in such a broad topic, we can say that an addiction arises from an unmet need. It may be that the person suffering from a certain addiction seeks some kind of instant pleasure, emotional emptiness, or something similar. Sometimes, stress can also be the cause of a certain addiction.

Let's imagine the following: We are experiencing a problematic situation, and instead of confronting it or addressing the root of the problem, we look for a much quicker solution, or something that dissociates or distracts us from the problem. This, in turn, ends up creating dependency, as we temporarily forget about the thing that causes us so much stress.

An example might be: Someone who turns to alcohol to relieve stress and, over time, becomes dependent on it. Little by little, alcohol becomes a necessity.

I think if we learn to identify these signs, we can learn to control what could become an addiction in the future. What do you think?
