This is a phrase that no one will ever miss at some point in their life, a famous hug from Hamlet. That leads us to reflect on our being and the decisions we make, Hamlet posed a dilemma regarding death, relating it to the purpose of life, suffering, and the decisions we make throughout our lives.

This phrase continues to gain relevance as it is a simple yet profound question. We can understand through Shakespeare that it poses an existential dilemma, asking if it is worth fighting, living, and moving forward even when we experience situations of suffering and uncertainty in life. We live in a world full of challenges and contradictions. Some days it seems like we wake up and take the world with us, while other times it seems like suffering compels us to stop fighting, understandably, and find a way to escape this reality.

Choosing to be is a simple, yet profound act of courage, as it implies facing the various challenges that life presents us with and finding meaning even in the most complicated and incomprehensible situations. Being means that we are responsible for our decisions, our thoughts, and our emotions. This implies that we affect our environment, the world, and all other living beings. We must accept ourselves with our strengths and weaknesses, our lights and shadows.

Let us remember that our lives are not just an endless succession of happy moments. We experience loss, various situations of suffering, and very difficult decisions. At the end of the day, the expression "to be and to know" is a desperate cry to find our life purpose. What is the meaning of life? This is what happens when we search for our purpose until we find it. What do you think?
