When we talk about insects, we must understand that we are talking about the balance of the ecosystem in general for the life of the planet.
You may be wondering, is it really that important? Although we often don't see it favorably, the role of insects is crucial for life in general, and let's see why: in the case of bees, butterflies, and the repulsive beetles, they are crucial for pollinating more than 70% of the crops we consume daily, including fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Without these pollinators, food production would be practically nonexistent.
Believe it or not, some insects also act as pest controllers, such as ladybugs (which are very beautiful and tender) and praying mantises. These two species, among many others, feed on insects that harm crops and are much better than pesticides because they reduce the need for chemicals.
Organic matter needs to be recycled, and for this we need insects like dung beetles (these are beetles that roll cow dung into balls, for example). ants and flies help decompose organic matter, such as the excrement of larger animals and other carcasses. In this way, they return nutrients to the soil and complete the ecological cycle of matter.
These are just a few points that highlight the importance of insects on planet Earth. I believe that from now on, we will see insects through different eyes and understand their importance in our environment a little better.
