Your points make total sense and Steemit is no different than other virtual and physical places.
Some people will try to enrich themselves by luring others in making them believe that them too can make easy money on the back of the platform.

People should concentrate on producing good content and curation and enjoy the platform and the interactions with others. Most importantly people should try to learn new things through Steemit.

Try to forget a little bit about the financial rewards for a while. These will follow in time. Steemit is not a place to make quick and effortless money.

Building a real community really does work it just takes more time and effort, but I think it's worth it and a hell of a lot more fun.
