RE: Cheerleading for Steemit!!! Nearing 1M accounts and we need to make some noise!!!
Solid points, but as steem is still in beta stage, you can cut them some slack.

Show me any other app in "beta" for 2.5 years -- top that off with not being as functional as a copy of wordpress from 2005 and still be unable to sign up a user in 3 weeks, while letting 25,000 account scam rings labelled things like user001,002, etc sign up instantly. Don't believe me? Ask anyone at steemcleaners about it.
I can't argue with anyone's frustration over the pace of Steemit development. Two years is indeed a long time to be in beta. But to be fair, Gmail was in beta for 5 years. And that was just a freaking webmail service.
I think it works pretty well. I would probably lower the payout threshold to .01 but it seems to me like the price of Steem should be higher.
Gmail might work better but you can't make money on Gmail like you can on Steemit.
See my reply to what amounts to your duplicate remark above.
It also still worked better than any other product for email ever made, from zeroday... and committed to continuous improvement which it delivered fast and effectively.
How much have you made off of Gmail by sending and receiving emails? lol
Hundreds of thousands of dollars, since my career as a tech executive has depended on it for a very long time.
Software development is my business. This company has the budget, and has had the time here. They are proving themselves fairly incapable at managing both.
I do believe you. Just that, those at the top are the ones creating the accounts. There's nothing some of us can do about it.
If the allegation is true that a steemit inc employee or contractor is the one making the multi-thousand account rings, then yeah, short of busting them and removing them from access, you would be right.
But we can't be sure that rumor is true. And aside from that, I'd need you to define what you mean by "those at the top" to elaborate further. If you mean steemit incorporated, where most of the spam signups seem to originate, than perhaps you are right. If you mean the top witnesses, I'd argue that isn't really directly possible, for technical reasons, whether I like or trust all of them or not...
I mean Steemit Inc. Heard some witnesses made those allegations. Since everything seems to be hearsay with no evidence, there’s nothing to go on with.
Yeah. :( In that case, we stand in solidarity, but luckily I've got friends who can get to the bottom of it over at steemcleaners, so we wait and see...
