RE: Do Steem Apps Live and Die by the Steem Power They Hold
That’s absolutely true but curation projects - which I think also deserve a delegation as I’ve regularly stated in comments - are both more inwards focused and currently a dime a dozen.
Additionally, the entry is much more lower level than for a Steem-app.
Steem-apps also serve a different function outwards. Steem-apps can attract more new users where curation projects are mostly internal and retention focused.
That is not to say that curation teams with a track record and some longevity shouldn’t receive a delegation from the mister.
Yeah, of course you are right there and the delegation (if used wisely) can make a huge difference. It should also be used to provide decent distribution if coming from Mister rather than the circles some create with it. I do think it is rather make or break whether a project is supported or not at this stage.
IMHO it absolutely is.
While funnily enough I discussed the exact flow of musing.io some months earlier with somebody, What Q&A had the first mover advantage and at this time in the evolution of the Steemecosystem that should have made a difference.
At this time, with only some apps - not hundreds as recently claimed - SP is indeed make or break and there’s a need for more, albeit maybe smaller, delegations. It’s crucial for the growth of the ecosystem and also as a motivator for devs/teams.
Steemit Inc needs to be slightly more forthcoming with smaller delegations for projects (but them on trial period and decide every month whether to increase or withdraw, Steemit Inc has the Google Analaytics account so they can easily track views for specific tags).
Same should apply to curation projects but it’s slightly more difficult to think of a system because before one knows it curation communities are a dime for twelve dozens and even the mister doesn’t have infinite Steem.
Yep, I think smaller delegation at least to start with. The dmania debacle should never have happened. off to bed :)
