WHEN WE WERE YOUNG
While young we had a long future ahead of us:
Too many dreams and too many expectations.
A long the way years like speeding vehicles by passed us,
By and by we tried to catch up with them but in vain.
Over speeding some of us crushed, slowing down
Some of us delayed.
The currents of destiny washed away the fertile soil
Of our dreams and expectations,
Leaving us with infertile sands of a life failed!!
In the gardens of reality we plant now,
Not expecting much, no longer expecting less,
No longer dreaming but staying awake.
Today is the future of our yesterday
And what other future do we wait for??
We live in the here and now, with hopes
That the hereafter will be best.
