Is Steem Coin the Cryptocurrency to watch out for?

in #steem6 years ago

Cryptocurrency, many think it's a fad that will fade from existence like the boy bands of yesteryear. But there are those of us that think it's here for the long term. With so many cryptocurrencies being bought, mined, and traded, I'm putting my eggs in the Steem Coin basket.

Why Steem Coin?

Steem is one of, if not the only, cryptocurrency being used across multiple types of media outlets. "But Daygon07, Dogecoin has been used on Reddit for tipping for quite sometime now." You're correct, but I've seen Steem being used across multiple types of media sites like Steemit, DLive, DTube, and other sites built on the Steem blockchain and I firmly believe this is the future of cryptocurrency. As a web developer, I'm always trying to stay ahead of the technology curve. While many people are looking over at Bitcoin, Ethereum, and others, people are missing some of the rising stars.

As a streamer, primarily on Twitch but migrating to DLive, and a blogger, content creators are constantly trying to find ways to monetize their craft. Enter Steemit and DLive. These are the two resources I'm utilizing to share my content on the Steem blockchain. Am I doing it for the money? I would be lying if I told you I'm not, but I'm more so doing it because I believe in the potential of these platforms and what they mean to the future of content curation. The more people are using these platforms, the more links are available for Google to index, the more audience the blockchain gains, the more opportunities for more content, upvotes, and comments the more opportunities there are to generate some additional cash flow.

Can you predict Steem Coin growth?

Short answer, yes and no. If you look across all cryptocurrencies, you can see that for the most part they all follow the same eb and flow, so it's pretty easy to track the trends as they correlate with other cryptos. With CoinMarketCap ranking Steem #35 out of 1865 cryptocurrencies, it's already in a good position to gain more traction, and with platforms like Steemit, DLive, and other Steem-based platforms more people will begin to realize the potential of Steem and I could see it as THE currency used across all social media platforms.

Conclusion

I only see upside to Steem. More people will migrate to the Steem based platforms, people will see immediate returns on a crypto that requires no financial investment unless you want to actually purchase Steem Coin. With platforms like Steemit and DLive, it encourages others to like/comment/share/upvote content which benefits curators and sharers alike. Let me know in the comments any downsides to investing in Steem you have seen.
