Today should be a day of celebration for the Steem community especially the developers and the team that has put their all into this project. It has achieve a significant milestone, one that certainly puts it in the spotlight, achieving a 1 Billion plus market capitalization. Probably its one of the most unique and still undervalued blockchain, its at the fore-front of a revolution, some may even say an evolution of how social media operates. It does not just provide a platform where shareholders enjoy the financial rewards but where everyone wins, the content creators, the consumers and the blockchain by extension. The blockchain was birthed with the idea of building platforms that are open, transparent, that are not controlled by large corporations or governments, where everyone is free to say whatever they like and vote according to their beliefs and conscience. Today these ideals were duly rewarded and as the community build on these ideals I can only see it getting bigger and increasing in value as layers of innovation is added to the blockchain.

Steem blockchain is ahead of the curve of many prominent crypto-related development especially on issues relating to scalability, transaction cost/ speed and security. The blockchain is still very much undervalued in comparison to prominent project when one considers usage level and community size. As the daily active users marches closer to Steem circulating supply of 245,951,445 this would have significant impact on its trading volume and thereby significantly influence its price. While the daily active users is still some distance away, the market has already rewarded some of its achievements. According to CoinMarketcap 1 Steem is currently price at $4.07 USD with a market capitalization of $1,000,188,607 USD and a circulating supply of 245,951,445 Steem.
