tbh I actually think Steem is already coming close to erring on the side of caution as far as I am concerned when it comes to "adult" content. NSFW tag that by default has very low visibility unless users opt in to viewing it, and IMO a community that is perhaps over zealous in forcing people to use NSFW tag.
I'd like specialised apps to handle it because separating it out gives more freedom to the nsfw community and various revenue streams
