A Journey of a Thousand Lines of Code & a Million Steps: Introducing Blaze.Apps!

in #steem5 hours ago

Hello Steemians,

For some time now, I’ve walked alongside you in this remarkable Steem ecosystem—exploring its intricate avenues, decoding its rhythms, and adding my own contributions to its ever-evolving architecture. Yet I’ve done so largely as a presence without a story, a builder without a blueprint you could see. Today, I’d like to change that.

This is not just an introduction to what I do, but to who I am—developer, seeker, wanderer, and student of life. My name in this digital realm is Blaze, though my path has earned me other names. I invite you to know me through all of them.

Chapter 1: The Forge -- Foundations in the Corporate World

My journey doesn’t begin on a misty Himalayan trail, but in the structured silence of data centers and the buzzing conference rooms of global tech. Born and raised in the vibrant chaos of Kathmandu, I entered the professional world at the age of 19—nearly two decades ago.

For 15 formative years, I served at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). There, I wasn’t just an engineer—I was an architect of systems, a solver of puzzles, and a student of scale. I worked with legacy infrastructure, managed global deployments, and learned to keep the world’s digital lifelines operational. It was a school of pressure, precision, and performance

That chapter continued with 3 years at Oracle, where I shifted focus from infrastructure to data—the lifeblood of modern enterprise.

My career took me to Singapore, where I lived the rhythm of a global workflow. Travels to London, Maldives, Indonesia, and Vietnam further shaped my worldview. These experiences taught me that while systems and cultures may differ, the human need for connection is universal 🌍

Academically, I hold a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a Master’s in Development Operations & Cyber Security, From Sikkim Manipal University , grounding my hands-on work with solid theoretical knowledge.

Chapter 2: The Great Pause — A Leap into the Unknown

And then the world stopped.

During the stillness of the COVID-19 pandemic, I paused to examine the architecture of the life I had built—successful, yes, but no longer aligned with who I was becoming.

I made the bold decision to resign from corporate life and step into the wild terrain of freelancing and bug bounties. I traded comfort for sovereignty, and fear for freedom

It was terrifying.
It was transformative.
And it was the most honest chapter of my journey so far.

Chapter 3: A Digital Renaissance — Discovering Web3

My leap into freedom led me to the frontier: Web3.

For someone like me—passionate about system architecture—the idea of decentralization felt revolutionary. It was a chance to build without permission, on protocols that belonged to no one and everyone.

I began with the Tron blockchain, and soon dove into the powerful, universal logic of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). I mastered the art of writing smart contracts, building dApps, and designing systems of pure, verifiable trust.

For the first time, I felt I wasn’t just working in technology—I was helping to shape its future

Chapter 4: The Inner Architecture — Peaks, Philosophy, Peace… and Parenthood

But a life of logic and code alone is only half a life.

My soul resides in nature. Trekking in the Himalayas is my meditation, my reset. The silence of high altitude replaces the noise of daily life with breath, rhythm, and truth ⛰️

I’ve hiked through:

  • Manaslu & Larke La Pass Video
  • Tilicho Lake & Thorong La Pass Video
  • Panch Pokhari (Five Lakes) Video
  • Shey Phoksundo & Upper Dolpa Video
  • Tso Rolpa Lake Video

Spiritually, I root myself in the Sanatani tradition, but I also fly on the wings of the Osho movement. I was blessed by Swami Ananda Arun with the spiritual name Swami Dhyan Utsav:

  • Dhyan (ध्यान) = Meditation
  • Utsav (उत्सव) = Celebration

This name reminds me to bring presence and joy into everything I do—whether debugging code or walking mountain passes

I also advocate for cognitive freedom and support the global legalization of marijuana 🌿 I use it thoughtfully—mainly on weekends—as a tool for creativity, calm, and deeper awareness.

Linguistically, I bridge worlds through:

  • English: my professional voice
  • Hindi: my cultural network
  • Nepali: my emotional home
  • Sanskrit: the source code of every Sanatani's soul

And perhaps the most sacred architecture I now co-create is that of fatherhood 👨‍👦
I’m a proud dad to a curious, joyful 4-year-old son, who teaches me more about patience, presence, and unconditional love than any mentor or book ever could. Through his eyes, I rediscover wonder every day.

I also recently became a licensed trekking guide, not professionally but as a hobbyist. If you're ever planning to explore Nepal—message me. I’d love to help you discover its magic.

The Confluence — Why I Build on Steem

After exploring many digital domains—from the corporate clouds to decentralized ledgers—my path has led me here, to Steem.

Why?

Because Steem is the most human blockchain I’ve ever encountered 💬

Where other chains chase speed and capital, Steem celebrates story, art, connection, and community. It is a living network of voices—and I am here to strengthen it.

Here’s what I’ve built so far:

  • 🔍 Blaze Scanner
A transparent, user-friendly blockchain explorer for Steem.

  • 🛢️ BlazeDB
An open-source, high-performance database powering the scanner—free for all developers.

  • 🔐 Open Source Steemit Wallet
A clean, secure, and intuitive wallet for Steem—designed like a welcoming front door. —free for all developers.

One of my other Contributions -> Advanced Settings on Steemit Comments section , which you might have noticed is recently Added , with my PR

My mission is to simplify Steem onboarding, empower builders, and elevate the entire user experience.

So this is me, in full:

A builder of systems and seeker of silence.
A father, a traveler, a coder, and a human.
A steward of code and a student of consciousness.

I believe each of us here is a vital node in a beautiful, evolving network. I'm here not just to contribute—but to connect, to co-create, and to build a better Steem, together with you all.

Thank you for reading my story
Let’s keep climbing—higher, together.

With love and respect,
Swami Dhyan Utsav (Blaze.Apps) 🙏 💖
