I like reading your post. I remembered one thing, I went to take a job interview. There were some patental work there. After finishing the job, everyone was asked to vote, to choose which one is good in the eyes. Everyone voted on each other, but one was the exception that he voted for his own work, so everyone got one vote, and he got two votes. The result of the two votes which had become their job. So I would say, who can not judge himself if he does not judge himself, then how will one judge others.

I think that you are using too simple metaphor for the very complex situations of self-voting.
In your case,
just one voting was done.
In steem, you may vote many times.
Voting is the fundamental right of the curators.
Each curator has different view on the beauty, taste, religion, truth, writing, curation.
I think that people should do their own business
instead of putting their nose into others' judgements, etc.
Humans are not clones nor robots.

I didn't mean to harm your or anybody's feeling or so.
But my direct way of expressing opinions may hurt others.
My lack of ability in many aspects like little looking into other's feeling or poor English or so may have caused it.
