I have a knife and a flashlight. I need to eat by the end of day 6. I choose option 1.

Usually, a lot of people have an image of a cow as a gentle creature just grazing on grass. I'm sensing these cows might be more aggressive than most people think.

Besides, I'm also sensing an Oregon Trail type situation here where even if I was able to kill a cow, I would only be able to carry a few extra pounds of meat for eating later.

I have a pistol, 8 rounds of ammunition, and 2 backup food supplies. have to eat prior to the end of Day 6 in order to avoid starvation. I choose option 1. Dont kill.

I'm going with option 1, no need to harm these cows right now. Though I do need to eat by end of d6r2

We do need to eat before the end of day 6 to avoid starvation. Maybe we'll find a river soon, with lots of little bugs? It's a risk, but I gotta take it. @tbnfl4sun, might make a different choice.

@tbnfl4sun has a knife, a pistol with 8 rounds of ammo, and a flashlight.
@livingwaters has a pistol with 8 rounds of ammo and water purification tablets.

I choose OPTION 1for this round.

Edited to make my answer shorter.

I like this one because we can't carry all that meat and we need to keep moving,Although I would've had fun with that knife!

Option 1 for me please - "Do not attempt to kill any cows."

After thinking it over a pistol and knife won't do me any good since the horns on these cattle looks pretty sharp, them being wild also have me a bit worried. There also seem to be many more snipers hiding in weird places this season so don't want to give away my location.

I only have to eat by day 6 round two.

Inventory:
1x Knife
1x Pistol (8 ammo)
1x Flashlight
1x Plant Field Guide
(I feel like one of those cartoon type characters, not sure where I am storing all this equipment.)

Team Weaponless will go for Option 1 - Do not attempt to kill cows.

Since both Nirado and myself have Finger Pistols with unlimited ammo we took aim at the closest cow and shot off 5 rounds each from our Finger Pistols.

Pew, Pew, Pew, Pew, Pew

The cow looked really confused watching us and just walked onward to meet up with his friends.

O yeah we both need to eat at the end of day 6

We, Team Turner ( @ironshield and @lturner ), being of hungry but cautious minds, choose Option 1

  • We have 2 Knives
  • We have 1 Firestarter
  • We have 1 Flashlight
  • We have 1 Plant Field Guide
  • We need to eat by Day 6, Round 2

We spent some time this afternoon contemplating whether or not we could actually kill a cow with a knife. We think it's pretty likely we would fail and it's also likely one or both of us might get seriously injured or die in the attempt. We watched some strapping teenage boys expertly butcher a yearling sheep last fall and it took (we think) two of them to catch and hold the animal while the third actually delivered the knife stroke to quickly end it's life, after which there was a lot of movement by the animal. If the animal were as big as a cow, there's no way the two of us would be able to restrain it enough to even get close to it with the knife; and if we did, there's serious danger from that big an animal flailing around. We also do not think this is a safe place to stop out in the open considering the fate of the folks who tried going up on the ridge last round. If we were to kill the cow, it would require some time in the open clearing to actually get meat from it.

We are gambling that there will be another food opportunity as we continue downhill; and it's a gamble because the next round is zero hour for our food situation.
