Introduction

Otor-mboro (unripe banana porridge) is a traditional dish originating from Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria. This nutritious meal is rich in essential nutrients, including:
  • Starch
  • Iron
  • Potassium

I will be showing you how I prepared otor mboro (unripe banana porridge), the steps I followed in making it and the ingredients I used also. Please stay with me as I began.

Lists of ingredients used

  1. Fish
  2. Salt
  3. Maggi
  4. Crayfish
  5. Fresh pepper
  6. Vegetable leaves
  7. Scene leaves
  8. Red oil
  9. Onion
  10. Periwinkle

To prepare otor mboro

I started by washing the unripe bananas, peeling them, and scraping off the thin layer with a knife. Then, I grated the bananas and added a small amount of salt and seasoning cube, mixing well and kept it aside.

Next, I poured the desired amount of water into a pot and brought it to a boil. I added the following ingredients to the boiling water:

  • Pepper
  • Periwinkle
  • Salt
  • Fish
  • Maggi
  • Crayfish

Adding Ingredients

I allowed the mixture to boil for some minutes before using a spoon to add the grated banana, shaping it into small balls as I added them to the pot.

I covered the pot and let it boil for a few more minutes to cook the banana. Finally, I added chopped vegetable and scene leaves, stirring gently.
