Steem Cartoon : Cartoon & Us (A visit at the National Museum)
HEY!!! I just wanna talk about my visit to (my 2nd time) at Muzium Negara Malaysia.... Was a tad bit late to talk about it though.. mb ;v;
A visit at the Muzium Negara on the 27th December, yup 2 days after Christmas, was indeed a nice experience. Of course, I thought at first it was a paid trip to enter the museum, but on the “Pameran Kartun & Kita (Cartoon & Us)” was a free entry. , though it's for a limited time. I was minding my own business admiring the artwork most of the time though XD
(Malaysian’s cartoons)
We were greeted by @sireh friend (whom I forgot who he was, apologies for the short-term memory. That and I can barely hear anything cause their voices was so soft). Though the way he talks was very friendly and was excited to let us see what is there in store for us in the exhibition
(People also did caricature commission at the entrance.)
Back on track, after we went inside the exhibition, I tried to stay in the group, but due to my curiousness of wanting to see what’s inside, I stray away from the group and head to the showcase. Instead of going to the left, I went right and yup, this is what I first saw
MMU’s students work was being exhibit in the museum, and mine was inside! (Though my slot was damn small, but still AMAZING).
After that we just venture on our own inside the exhibition and saw lots of artwork from decades ago. They also exhibit a really cool interactive artwork such as zeotrope and an interesting hologram animation.
Of course, I spend most of my time at this section where I’m just legit am amaze at everything that was shown there. I felt like a kid again trying and figuring out how it works.
(Look, even Mr. Sireh’s face was in the museum.)
There was also a section for Malaysian cartoon magazine, such as “APO?” and “Ujang”. Seeing these just made me reminiscing the old time when I read the magazine.
So basically, I have a free read from the old magazine that was exhibit there and I’ve got to admit, some of the comedy I can’t understand it much, not for my friend though, he is the king of jokes… Lame ones.
(I remembered the days when 3D pictures were the hit and I was so impressed by the 3D illusion.)
When I was walking through the exhibit, there’s a small talk by Jaafar Taib regarding the transformation from the old Malaysian cartoon until now, and it was without a doubt I’m impressed when I saw the pictures of the old cartoon and the presents. (Again, I didn’t hear much due to the soft voice)
Also, in the exhibition also got a section for the international cartoon which I found it really nice since cartoons are being enjoyed by everyone in the world and to give a section for the international cartoon makes me to appreciate cartoons in general.
After kept on repeatingly walking around in circle in the exhibition room, my friends and I went to the exhibition room across the “Kartun & Kita” which is was apparently looks like ASEAN/SEA game exhibition.
To sum up the visit, was a really interesting and a mind opener for me at the least. I get to witness amazing artworks that was exhibit (especially water colours cause I’m a sucker for it) and to also went to see Sukan Sea Exhibition in the process adds up the excitement during the visits. Especially when me and my friend was having so much fun seeing and “playing” during the exhibition. Also, get to meet with @perennial (founder of #steem-cartoon) but I was too hype over the Malaysian artworks that was display to talk to him much ><.
Bai bai~
