Steem Cartoon : Getting Your Rocks Right

Today I will show you a bit of rock creation techniques. I will use simple methods that can help speed up the entire process of background creation.

This is a sample work that I am basing my drawing on.

First I draw a silhouette rock with dark colours.

From the dark colour on the rock I will create texture that is random and I will use normal layer on low opacity.

Now I add light colours on the rocks. You can use the guide from the shadow on the rocks by using ic up colour tools and sketch a structure on the rocks stylized.

After getting the texture on the rocks you can colour the rocks I return to the side structure that is lighter to get the normal lighting first.

Now we can place the colour details at the this stage.

this is the final process where you need to control the shadow and lighting to make the entire visual more oustanding. You can use layer overlay.

After you are finished with the colour on the rocks, we can move on to the entire background. The location that I choose is seaside.

We include some colour guides for each object on the beach. This part of the sky I use gradient and the part of the beach I will use the sand texture.

I will place some small trees around the rocks so that it will look more interesting like a frame.

The final process I will detail the entire drawing by including the sea and the sky and other parts. You can see the finished product, happy trying and till we meet again.
