RE: Bounty Hunter Report 5-15

in #steem-bounty6 years ago (edited)

Hi, I have a question on the community distribution of the votes per below. We all know there will be individuals that game the system and will abuse this portion with using bidbots or curation trails on their own comments. These “votes” are not truly organic and can be considered cheating if they comment on a post with a bounty. I realize 20% is a small share of the reward but is there any way to make it a fair playing field? I’ve seen many commenters use these methods to profit off a post with a bounty set.

I would like to try out a bounty but hate to be rewarding these individuals profiting off others good intentions. If I set a bounty, I would like all rewards to go to organic community votes.

20% or the rest of the bounty is determined by votes of everyone else that voted on the comments.

This is something we will address more in future version. For now let us know if u see a problem. The best place is the telegram channel as we will be able to react quickly.

Most scammers have little SP so we should be able to downvote them quite easily.

In the future we are thinking about:

  • any amount of downvote from bounty creators will negate any rewards. this makes it easy for the bounty creator to manage this problem themselves.
  • create blacklist and auto put users on it.

For now let us know and we will manage via downvotes

Thanks for the reply @btc-dialog. Just my thought but I think many would prefer a blacklist instead of having to flag a user. I think the individuals that use this service want to show support to their commenters and I doubt any would want to downvote someone that stops by their post.

I'll try a small amount to see how it works. I bidbot all the comments on my post to make it an even playing field for the commenters. Had to learn how to do that one, lol. I accidentally upvoted my post initially. Thanks :)
