"Bamseom Island," a shelter only for migratory birds that people can no longer enter.
Bamseom Island
- Location : https://naver.me/G58YA10H
It is an island of the Han River attached to Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and is famous for migratory birds, and is at the point where Seogang Bridge passes downstream of Mapo Bridge on the Han River.
The name Bamseom Island is named because the shape of the island looks like Bam(Marron).
Originally, it was an isolated island, but as Yeouido develops into a wider island, it leads to Yeouido when the water becomes less.
The bedrock is a solid rock layer, and the river cliff in the eastern and western parts of the island was so beautiful that it was called the 'Little Haegeumgang'.
As it was designated as a natural ecosystem conservation area in August 1999, access to the island was completely controlled, and a viewing platform was established to view migratory birds along the Han River in Yeouido.
Although you cannot enter the island directly, you can see it passing by the island in the middle of crossing the Seogang Bridge. I think it is the least courtesy of nature to watch Bamseom Island, designated as Ramsar Wetland, from a distance. :)
