Dhanua-Kamalpur Land Port is located in Bakshiganj Upazila of Jamalpur District of Bangladesh, which is known as an important land port on the India-Bangladesh border. The land port is located in Jamalpur, a district adjacent to my birthplace Sherpur District, and I recently visited this land port with my family. It was undoubtedly a wonderful experience for me as it was my first time visiting a land port. We are all aware of land ports. Currently, there are 26 land ports declared by the Bangladesh government. Today, I will present to you the travelogue of this land port.

My family and I went to visit this place in a CNG. It took us about three hours to get there from my location. We enjoyed the scenic view on the way there and it was already afternoon when we reached there. You can see from my pictures that I showed it in the afternoon. My travel expenses to travel here were about 1000 BDT or about 100 Steem in current prices. We did not have to pay any entry fee.

Before sharing the travelogue here, the thing I will share with you is the history of this land port. Because after landing here, you will see the murals on the wall of the main office of the land port, which have been prepared based on the history of this place. This is definitely a spectacular subject if you love history and are interested in knowing history, then there is no alternative to these. Bangladesh was created after the 1971 Liberation War. Dhanua-Kamalpur is an important place in the history of the Liberation War of Bangladesh. During the war, it was one of the battlefields, where the freedom fighters clashed fiercely with the Pakistani army. During the Liberation War, Bangladesh's neighboring country India helped Bangladesh a lot and this place is a strategic position adjacent to the Indian border, which was very important for the freedom fighters. There was also a strong base of the Pakistani army here, which became the target of the attack of the freedom fighters. Later, as a result of the joint operation of the Indian army and the freedom fighters, the freedom fighters won Dhanua Kamalpur, which was marked as an important victory in the independence struggle of Bangladesh.

This depicts Bangladeshi freedom fighters and Pakistani soldiers. It further depicts the victory of the Bangladeshi freedom fighters over the heavily armed Pakistani army despite being outnumbered and under-armed. Behind the freedom fighters, an independent Bangladesh flag is seen flying. The sculpture serves as a memorial to the bravery and sacrifice of the freedom fighters and civilians who participated in the war. It is a memorial to the struggle for independence and the value of freedom.

A glimpse of agriculture in independent Bangladesh

This picture shows the image of independent Bangladesh. Here the picture of rural Bengal is depicted where the main occupation of Bangladesh was agriculture. If you look closely at the picture, you can see the farmers working. Cultivating crops, plowing the fields, bringing new crops home on their heads, cleaning and preserving them with the help of women after bringing the crops home. The main crop of Bengalis is rice. Every step of rice cultivation is highlighted here. In addition, the immense beauty of Bangladesh is depicted with rivers, boats, birds, trees and another wonderful theme of Bangladesh's history, which is women's sewing in their free time.

Glimpses of trade or product transfer

Some of the pre-war history is highlighted here. Most of it is about transportation and trade. Since it is a land port, some sculptures have been made about the transportation system of the past and other things.

Gate of port office

The gate to enter the port office. The public is not allowed to enter here so we could not go inside but we saw from a distance that it is a vast area where various goods are brought from neighboring countries and stored there for sending to neighboring countries. People cannot travel to neighboring countries using this land port, this port is used only for the transport of goods.

Impored stones

The main thing of this land port has not been shared with you. This port is mainly used to import stones. Stones are imported through this port and supplied to our entire country. The barricade you see in this is the border between the countries. The BGB of Bangladesh guards this area for security. On the other side of this barricade is my neighboring country India where the general public is prohibited from entering. However, locals can go inside with special permission because some agricultural land is outside their patrol tower. We can see some parts of India from here. It was undoubtedly a very enjoyable tour. Interestingly, there are no food shops around this land port. We only saw a mobile shop where Chatpati was being sold. Here people make a living by breaking stones and doing agriculture.
