The Beautiful Dharmapala Park - Galle, Srilanka

in #steem-atlas10 days ago

Greetings everyone,

I hope you are all well. Today I am going to share with you some pictures and details about another beautiful place in our country. Yesterday I went to the park with my aunt and sister. This park is called Dharmapala Park and it is the main park in the Galle district.

This picture shows the main entrance to Dharmapala Park.

This Dharmapala Park is a unique place located in the heart of Galle city near the Galle-Colombo main road. This park is named Dharmapala because it is a park built in memory of Anagarika Dharmapala, a great leader of Sri Lanka in the past. There is a statue of Anagarika Dharmapala in front of the park, facing the main road. I actually forgot to take a picture of that statue yesterday.

The park map can be seen on the right as you enter the main entrance.

The entrance fee is 50 Sri Lankan rupees for everyone over 12 years of age, which is $0.16

Entering through the main entrance and walking a short distance, you will find the restaurant, and a little further to the right is a house with various small flower plants, such as orchids.

Also, several signs inside the park indicate the locations within. In addition to those signs, there are also several signs with instructions written in English throughout the park.

The park is full of trees and leaves, so this place can be introduced as an ideal place for someone who wants to relieve fatigue. The wind blowing from the surrounding environment gives a new freshness to the tired body. Many people from home and abroad do not forget to come and enjoy this Dharmapala Park. The green environment of the park further enhances its beauty.

The park is mostly visited by young children with their parents. Many of them enjoy themselves on the swings and seesaws in the children's play area in the park. On Sundays and Saturdays, Dharmapala Park is filled with many people. But on weekdays, there are no such crowds. That is why we chose Monday, a weekday, to go to the park. Yesterday, there were only a few people in the park. Therefore, the park had a calm nature.

Sunday is a day off for many people, so the park is filled with a large crowd. However, on weekdays, due to school and other work days, fewer people come to the park on those days.

The pictures below show views of the children's play area in the park.

The play equipment in this park can only be used by children under the age of 12. And you may see young children riding on swings with the help of their parents, and also riding on slide boats.

The above pictures show all the play equipment in the children's play area. These include swings, seesaws, sliding boards, spinning equipment, and play houses.

My sister also ran around and played with various play equipment. She also enjoyed riding on the spinning with the help of her mother.

She also went to ride the spinning wheel with another little boy there.

Dharmapala Park is spread over a large area and has a separate place to sit and relax next to the children's play area. The two pictures below show that relaxation area.

There is an old open-air theater in the park, and this image shows that open-air theater.

Also, towards the inside of the park is a sea view area with several fish tanks. I didn't go to take pictures of every fish tank there. But I did take one picture of it.

There is also a pony area at the side of the park. There used to be two ponies here before, but now there is only one.

These two pictures show the exit of the park, and once you exit from here, you can easily reach Galle Fort. Beyond this, you can see the Galle Fort wall.

We didn't stay at the park for long. Normally, it's very difficult to take my sister back from the park when she goes there. But yesterday, she didn't want to play for long. The reason is that two of the main playground equipment in the children's play area are closed for renovations. She loves to play there. But because of the renovations, the children won't be able to use the that playground equipment for a few days.
