RE: [STEEM ATLAS @ 16 Feb '25] Towards a Sustainable Business Model #1 : Beneficiaries
This is a bit abstract, but I assume that as part of this project your team is developing some expertise at identifying things that are really being done in real locations at particular times (as opposed to people just stealing pre-existing images and claiming to have been there). This expertise would have some overlap with verifying that accounts are being controlled by real people in particular places, so maybe you could incorporate an element of identity-verification into your business model. On a chain where it's really easy for new accounts to pop up it seems like there ought to be some value in being able to have some confidence that there's a real human behind it, although how to translate that into a business model will probably take some thinking.
That's an interesting angle.
At the moment the activity on the site is at a level where we can likely detect any 'fakeness' appearing in posts or accounts, but that might be more difficult as usage grows and more newcomers are attracted to join.
The curated content on Steem Atlas definitely has a unique value but crystalising that and packaging that will be a challenge.
