A tour through the live of a MEP (European Parliament Member)

in #statism8 years ago

Though these video's from the dutch geenstijl tv are already 3 years old and the parliament member giving the tour doesn't have a seat any more, it's still relevant.
It shows the price we pay to the heroes, which, if we didn't have them, Europe, and the rest of the world even, would be in utter chaos.
All sarcasm aside, ofcourse the majority of people here on steemit probably understand that this is totally insignificant compared to the cost that their policies have on society. It's really amazing how through the generations they have duped the masses into believing these psycho's are essential for order in society, while in reality they cause the exact opposite.
Most of the mind controlled peoples responses to this are either they're against the EU anyway and use this to back up their nationalist agenda or they propagate the myth that there's nothing wrong with the concept of centralized government, but that we need the right people in the right places of government, something which has never happened and is impossible, i even see some people blaming the reporter but i can't think other then that this must be trolls.

Anyway let's take a look at the luxurious life of a MEP, who most of the time do nothing and when they do they set the policy to screw up society even more.

Part 1: Strasbourg (english subtitles can be enabled)

Part 2: Brussels (English subtitles can be enabled)

To summarize:

  • The gargantuan building is used for 4 days a month, the rest of the month it's closed, it isn't used for anything else.
  • The MEP's can use a car with driver from the parliament for whatever they want, whenever they want.
  • They get a net salary of 6200 euros a month.
  • There's a general reimbursement of 4200 euros a month, you don't have to show anything for it, you just have to ask for it.
  • Per month as MEP you can spend 21.000 euros on employees, at point of recording you can hire family members like your wife, however according to him that's not the case in the next election, however it's already seen that certain members of a party hire one another’s wife etc.
  • They also have distance and time reimbursement, which means when you travel by car to Brussels or Strasbourg, you get the distance covered as well as the time spent in the car. From the Hague to Strasbourg that means 800 euros reimbursement. What happens is that Romanians and Bulgarians hire someone to drive a car for let's say 1200 euros, who drives every week to Strasbourg or Brussels for the money, because they get 3000 euros or so reimbursement for that. And in the meanwhile they themselves buy an easyjet ticket.
  • They also get the day reimbursement, which means that if you sign in at Brussels or Strasbourg you get 300 euro's, for which you can just walk in, sign in and leave (which happens all the time (and when you confront them they get aggressive)).
  • In five years they build up a retirement of 1250 euros from 63 years old.
  • Most of them don't show up in most debates.
  • They can get all the expensive restaurant food and drinks they want for free.

And again this is not the big issue, more of a distraction, something like mtv cribs.
