Statewars ~ Maryland ~ Day 5 Food/Dish – Maryland Gold!!
Okay, Maryland gets a bad rap sometimes but did you know we have gold in Maryland?!
Well, sort of! It’s, certainly, like gold to us Marylanders! Except, it’s way cheaper and can be readily found in most stores around here and you can consume it. I’m talking about Old Bay Seasoning of course!
Old Bay Seasoning is made by McCormick & Co in Hunt Valley, Maryland. When you drive by the place it smells delicious. Look! It ain’t a Maryland crab cake without the Old Bay.
Our crab cakes are shipped all over the USA!
YUM!!
Steaming some crabs or shrimp? You better add some of this to take it up a notch!
Oh Yeah!
So, I know some followers aren’t into seafood (which is almost unfathomable) but it’s not just great for seafood. This stuff is also great on chicken wings and pretty much any part of the chicken! Burgers too!
What you’re Vegan? Got you covered for that too! It’s great on fries, tots, veggies, mashed potatoes, stir-frys, corn on the cob, baked potatoes and more.
You a big snacker? Gotcha’ covered! It’s also great on popcorn and potato chips. You can buy a bag of crab chips....
or, by golly, you can make your own with plain old chips and some Maryland Gold!
Making some mac & cheese? Take it to the next level with some of this stuff!! Your friends are gonna thank you!
For all you people on a liquid diet..I didn’t forget you either cause this stuff will spice up your vegetable juices and it makes an even better addition to a Bloody Mary!
So get yourself some Maryland Gold! It can be ordered online or stop into any grocery store in the state. Can usually be found in the spice section
Oops…
Or the seafood department!
Lots of great recipes can be found on the can too.
Gotta go now cause my friend Mary is calling. Cheers!!
#statewars hosted by @steemusa and thanks to @gniksivart for coming up with and putting so much time into putting #statewars together!!
I add 2 tablespoons per half cup of BBQ sauce and put it in brisket or pit beef.
Oh yeah! Spoken like a true Marylander!! Thanks @pastbastard!!

Lucky you.
This is a delicious post. Seriously. I want to eat your post.
Lol..I'd make a trade for that big yummy burger??!
This is what we call that in the South.
Hmm..heard of it but never had it so may have to give it a try sometime! ;)
I imagine it's a slightly different variation of what you use.
Some real hunger quenching diet in the post! I scrolled up and down a couple times and ended up feeling hungry. It also reminded me for something to drink!
Lol..thanks @maxabit!! Looking at all the entries today was making me hungry! = )
Maryland blue crabs are popular and famous, so I heard! My son lived there for a while, and brought home these yummy crabs..I am drooling just to write this, because I didn't have some for a long long time!
Thank you @icybc!! It's what we are best known for I think and they are yummy indeed!! = )
Thank you for thinking in the Vegan fellas , I will stick with the fries!
Thank you and you're welcome!! I actually love it all! I went gluten free for 5 months before all the newer stuff came out but got bored and missed bacon!
Can't imagine a well stocked kitchen without Old Bay....even though our seafood in Wisconsin is sparse!
Thanks @melinda010100!! Old Bay is great for so many things but is just awesome with seafood!
