LOVE vs DISCRIMINATION.
What is love ?
According to Merriam Webster online dictionary, "love is an intense feeling of strong or constant affection for a person". It's an unselfish loyal benevolent concern for the good of another. The Hebrew word commonly use for love in the OT ( OLD TESTAMENT) is "AAHEB" which could mean affection, strong liking, benevolent romantic or sexual love. ( deut 4:37, 10:15).
In the NT (NEW TESTAMENT), several Greek words are translated as love with specific meaning, Agapao(verb) and Agape(noun) -means affection, benevolence, goodwill, high esteem and concern for the one loved. It's deliberate, purposeful love rather than emotional or impulsive love, Phileo (verb) -means to love in an impulsive and emotional way. It's seldom used in the Bible (Jn 21:15-27).
What is Discrimination?
This means the unjust it's prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex. Synonyms are prejudice, bias, bigotry, intolerance, narrow-mindness, unfairness, inequality, favourism,one-sideness, partisanship etc. Discrimination could be academic, elitist, economic, gender, political, racial or religion etc.
