BENITEZ FEARS NEWCASTLE CURRENT SQUAD
The former Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez is scared the players he currently has at Newcastle may not be well enough to face the challenge the English Premier League will present in 2018/19 campaign, after his side had a 2-2 draw with Hull City in their preseason match.
After leading the club to the Premier League from Championship, the former Real Madrid coach Benitez maintained a brilliant form as his side ended tenth on in the 2017/18 EPL standings.
Nevertheless, the coach is bothered due to their lack of participation in the ongoing transfer market which is against his wish of strengthening the team in order to compete in the real world of competition.
"I doubt the current set of players are enough to face and conquer the challenge I foresee in the coming season and beyond. We, for sure need additional players, it is glaring. I hope there will be new signings during this Portugal tour." Benitez said following their 2-2 draw with Hull City.
