Bayern Munich won the 2018 German Super Cup after beating Eintrach Frankfurt. That success resulted in a special note for Bayern.

Bayern, 2017/2018 Bundesliga champions, face Frankfurt, champions of the DFB-Pokal, in the German Super Cup. Compete at the Commerzbank Arena on Monday (08/13/2018) early morning local time, Bayern won 5-0.

Robert Lewandowski became the star of Bayern's victory. The Polish striker bought three goals.

With this victory, Bayern recorded the German Super Cup in three consecutive years. In Opta's record, Bayern were the first team to score that achievement.

Overall, this is the seventh German Super Cup for Bayern. Die Roten sharpened his record as the owner of the most German Super Cup titles with seven titles, two more than Borussia Dortmund right below it.

"Congratulations to my team. We did a good job for 90 minutes," Bayern coach Niko Kovac said, as quoted by the club's official website.

"We have to show a good position and quickly move from defensive to attack. We scored in the right time."

"I am satisfied and hope this title will strengthen us in the future," he added.
