Kevin / Marcus qualified for the World Championship Quarterfinals

Step Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo / Marcus Fernaldi Gideon at the Badminton World Championship 2018 continues into the quarterfinals. They beat the Russian representatives.

In the last 16 round of matches at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center on Thursday (08/02/2018), Kevin / Marcus posted a straight game win over Vladimir Ivanov / Ivan Sozonov with a score of 21-19, 21-12.

Kevin / Marcus fought tightly with Ivanov / Sozonov in the first game. Had left behind 15-18, Kevin / Marcus overtaking in the last points to seize the first game.

The second game runs more comfortably for Kevin / Marcus. They also won the second game with a more decisive advantage.

In the quarterfinals, men's world number doubles will face Takeshi Kamura / Keigo Sonoda. Kamura / Sonoda escaped after getting rid of other Indonesian representatives, Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

Head to head, Kevin / Marcus is 4-3 ahead of Kamura / Sonoda. Kevin / Marcus won the last meeting with Kamura / Sonoda at the Dubai World Super Series Finals 2017.

But Kevin / Marcus's steps were not followed by Berry Angriawan / Hardianto. They were eliminated by seventh seed Takuto Inoue / Yuki Kaneko.

Berry / Hardi fights three games for one hour 17 minutes against the Japanese representative. They lost by 11-21, 22-20, 16-21.

From the mixed doubles number, Indonesia also lost one of its representatives. Hafiz Faizal / Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja was unable to stem the top seed, Zheng Siwei / Huang Yaqiong, and lost 15-21, 13-21.
