BMX bicycle racer Princess Wiji Lestari won a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. Despite her disappointment, Wiji got a lesson from this multievent.

Being one of the young riders and considered to have great potential Wiji has tried to show the best. Compete at BMX International Race, Pulo Mas, Jakarta, Monday (08/25/2018), the 18-year-old athlete became the third fastest rider.

Wiji posted 40.788 seconds. While gold was captured by Chinese rider Zhang Yaru, with a time of 39,643 seconds. He was followed by Thai riders, with a record of 40,788 seconds.

Wiji's chance to take first place was actually wide open when two Chinese and Japanese riders fell on the third track. But Wiji was ridden by two competitors before the finish line.

"Yes, I have tried, but it can't be the best," said Wiji in the paddock.

"Indeed there is a mistake why can it be raced by athletes from China and Thailand. In the future I will improve the skill of the match, especially at the jump. It must be sharpened again," he said later.

BMX racing only lasts one day. After this, he will whistle in other bicycle races. In addition to the junior Olympics, Wiji is also preparing for the 2019 Philippines SEA Games.

"I will reply later at the SEA Games next year. My target is certainly gold. So with the Olympics later though the opponents faced must be heavy but I have learned the lesson here and am happy to donate medals to Indonesia," he hoped.
